Early Morning Crash Closes Interstate 25 near Castle Rock

Commuters should expect delays

(Douglas County, COLO) – On February 4, 2026, at about 4:32 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to the area of Interstate 25 northbound near milepost 181, south of Castle Rock, for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

The initial investigation shows a Ram pickup truck and a semi collided on the Interstate, causing the northbound lanes to be blocked. The driver of the Ram was transported to an area hospital.

Currently, the road is closed, and traffic is being diverted to exit 174. This is a current ongoing investigation, and updates will be provided once available.

The Colorado State Patrol is the lead investigating agency.
