Obituary
Brian Keith Stoker was born April 30, 1961, in Las Animas, CO to Billie Ann Davis and George Alfred Stoker. He entered into rest at his La Junta home February 7, 2026. He was raised and attended school in Las Animas. In 1963, his father married Virginia Pearl Phillips, in which their families were blended.
In 1988, Brian married Carol Karle, and to this union had 3 children; Jeremiah, Kassidy, and Regina.
29 years ago on February 13, 1997, Dana received her first of many Valentine’s Day flowers from a man she barely knew. Brian came into the Red Dog, where she was working and swept her off her feet. They had a whirlwind romance from that day forward: late night drives that included talking about anything, everything, and nothing at all. He made her mix tapes of sappy love songs that she’ll cherish forever. He held open doors, made her dinners, and showed up in ways that she wasn’t used to. Two short months later, he helped her bring a beautiful baby girl into the world and loved her like his own. August 16th of that same year, they became the Brady Bunch; blending her 3 and his 3 (THEIR 6). Dana remembers thinking that “If I got to have 30 years with this man, it wouldn’t be enough”. She was right; it’s not enough. They worked hard through those years. They faced many challenges along the way, but they always did it together. His love for his family was strong and steady. He wasn’t much on grand gestures, but he loved them in ways that mattered. Dana was the absolute love of his life, and he was hers.
Brian was a truck driver off and on for many years. He also worked for the Fort Lyon Canal and the Las Animas School District for many years, where he often took his family for “friendly” basketball games. His last 8 years he enjoyed working at Red Dog Revisited and meeting many people that would become family.
In 1999, he started playing bass guitar with Fred Darnell and Country Gold off and on for many years. One of his favorite hobbies was Tuesday night darts with Dana and his mother-in-law Earlene (Squirrel), whom he adored. He always made sure to attend any/all of his kids’ events that he was able to. If he ever talked to you about his grandchildren, you could see the pride and love radiating off of him. He had the most amazing sense of humor and was constantly quoting raunchy comedy movies. He was a great cook and the life of every party. To know Brian was to love him.
Brian is survived by the love of his life; Dana Stoker of La Junta, CO, Children; Jeremiah (Elizabeth) Stoker of La Junta, CO, Kassidy Stoker of La Junta, CO, Regina (Omar) Estrada of Swink, CO, Randy (Ariel) Eddings of Las Animas, CO, Shaina (Jesse) Cebulski of Rocky Ford, CO, and Kyrsten (Cody) Haberman of Frederick, CO. 15 Grandchildren; Peyton and Parker Stoker, Zackery and Zaedyn Obryan, Olivia Martinez, Maddox, Norah, and Gianna Estrada, Rhyder, Amaya, and Blayke Eddings, Oakley and Bentley Cebulski, Wrenlee and Waylenn Haberman. Siblings; Donald Stoker of Las Animas, CO, Elsie (Duane) Lacy of Parker, CO, Francene Czillinger of Colorado Springs, CO, Carri Pender of Arizona, Barbie Pender of Rocky Ford, CO, and numerous family and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his Parents, mother-in-law Earlene (Squirrel) Miller, best friend Floyd Espinoza, and brother Alan Losey.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at First Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 a.m. in La Junta with Pastor Mark Callister officiating.
