Obituary

Kevin Paul Pharo was born in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, to Alan and Shirley (Kimmel) Pharo on October 6, 1957. He was excitedly welcomed home by two older brothers, Kit and Brett. Two sisters, Kathy and Jennifer, followed later. He passed from this world into the next on February 19, 2026, at the Cheyenne Manor Nursing Home in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, following a severe stroke in December 2022.

Kevin participated in the family farm life as a child, but always seemed to have a longing for “bigger and better” things and places. He never seemed to “fit in” with small-town life. Kevin always liked to push the boundaries, whatever they might be, and because of that, he had some amazing life experiences – some good, some not so good. Suffice it to say that Kevin was a “herd quitter” before herd quitting was cool.

Kevin lived many different places in his life, but his favorite seemed to be in and around Ft. Collins, Colorado, particularly in a home just above Horsetooth Reservoir. He had several long-time friends in the area. He had several different occupations through the years, including working at a printing business in Ft. Collins, working with a friend in a woodworking shop in Oregon, landscaping, custodial work, etc. He was a natural at building and repairing things from a very young age, and was always very meticulous in his work. While in high school shop class, he made a customized sewing desk, a grandfather clock, and a cedar chest.

Kevin was baptized on May 3, 1970, at the Arapahoe Community Church. He attended all twelve years of school at Arapahoe School, graduating at the top of his class in 1975

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Shirley Pharo, and an infant brother, Scott. He is survived by brothers Kit (Deanna) Pharo of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, and Brett (Debra) Pharo of Rapid City, Michigan, and sisters Kathy (Rod) Pelton of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, and Jennifer (Warren) McConnell of Lahoma, Oklahoma, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions will be given to the Salvation Army and may be left at the Eastern Colorado Bank in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 am. Brown Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
