Pamela (Pam) H. Leinweber
July 29, 1960 – February 19, 2026
Obituary
Pam went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with very aggressive cancer. Pam was born on July 29, 1960, to Howard H. and Lenna S. (Thomas) Howerton in La Junta, Colorado.
Pam grew up in Las Animas, Colorado and loved the prairie surrounding the area. She graduated from Las Animas High School in 1978. She married Jeff Smith in 1979, they later divorced.
Pam met her true love, Larry Leinweber at a Bible Study at his house in 2000. They became friends, started dating and were married June 9, 2001. She and Larry have been married 24 years. They are very active in the First Baptist Church of Hudson, CO where they attend Services, Bible studies and Prayer meetings.
They enjoy traveling together where they have visited 22 different countries, Pam’s favorites being Israel and Ireland. They have also traveled extensively in the United States. They also enjoy spending time with their blended family, while living in different parts of CO and NE, and enjoy spending some of the outdoorsy holidays together like Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day enjoying BBQ. Pam and Larry enjoy trap shooting together and she is known as a jokester among them. They are also season ticket holders to the Colorado Eagles hockey team in Loveland. They enjoy playing the family version of progressive rummy and going fishing. Pam’s first fly fishing experience was on the White River in Alaska catching 8-pound Sockeye Salmon.
Pam was employed by the USGS and worked in Fort Collins, Denver, and Boulder during her 21-year career with the Federal Government. During that time, she also earned an associate degree. Besides her busy career, she and Larry farmed and raised beef cattle west of Fort Lupton.
Pam is survived by her husband Larry; her daughter Sally (Don) Wright of Bayard, NE, son Jacob (Elizabeth) Smith, grandchildren Thomas, James, and Ava of Las Animas; Larry’s children Evelyn (Jeff) Rice of Erie, CO, Jason (Amber) Leinweber of Fort Lupton, CO, grandchildren Addison Rice, Avery Rice (Ethan Raasch), Helaina Perkins (great grandchild Tristen), Rylee (Emanuel) Ionascu (greatgrandchildren Lucas, Evangeline, Gemma, and Hazel); her brothers Richard Howerton of Wellington, CO, David (Jennifer) Howerton of Westcliff, CO, her sisters MaryAnn (Dale) Walling of Dayton, WA, Deb (Terry) Woods of Eddyville, IA, and Carol (Rick) Parsons of Kennewick, WA, and very close cousin Brenda (Kim) McGee of Brighton, CO, brothers-in-Law Len (Judy) Leinweber, their traveling companions, of Johnstown, CO, Vernon (Faye) Leinweber of Erie, CO, and Loren (Melissa) Leinweber of Tiptonville, TN, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins among both sides of the family.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lenna, her grandma and grandpa Thomas, and her grandma and grandpa Howerton, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Hudson, CO, 610 Cherry Street, Hudson, CO 80642 on Thursday, March 5, 2026 with family gathering from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Celebration of Life Service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Fort Lupton, CO at 11:30 AM and lunch at First Baptist Church of Hudson at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Hudson, CO, 610 Cherry Street, PO Box 471, Hudson, CO 80642. Tabor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
