My name is Simon Guillermo, and I am writing to formally declare my intent to run as a Republican candidate for Crowley County Sheriff in the 2026 election.

I began my law enforcement career in December 2003 with the Crowley County Sheriff's Office and have since dedicated more than 22 years to serving the people of Colorado. Over the course of my career, I have spent more than 15 years with the Crowley County Sheriff's Office, in addition to gaining valuable experience with the Colorado Department of Corrections, where I currently serve as a Parole Officer.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office and surrounding law enforcement agencies. I have managed hundreds of cases, including traffic accidents, DUIs, burglaries, domestic violence incidents, assaults, sexual assaults, and drug-related offenses. My responsibilities have included conducting investigations from start to finish, including crime scene processing, evidence collection and preservation, interviews, report preparation, warrant filings, and courtroom testimony.

I have had the privilege of serving under and learning from respected Crowley County Sheriffs, including Terry Reeves, Smokey Kurtz, and Miles Clark. Their mentorship and leadership have played a significant role in shaping my approach to law enforcement. I am committed to building upon that foundation while continuing to strengthen and improve the Sheriff's Office.

My wife and I are proud to call Crowley County home, where we are raising our two daughters. My wife serves the community as the Assistant Principal at Crowley County School District, and we are active members of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ordway. Our roots in this community are strong, and our commitment to it is unwavering.

I am running for Sheriff because I believe Crowley County deserves experienced leadership, strong collaboration among agencies, and a Sheriff who understands both law enforcement and corrections. I am committed to serving with integrity, professionalism, and respect for all members of our community.

I respectfully ask for your support and your vote in the 2026 election.

Sincerely,
Simon Guillermo
