Florence Shooting Investigation Update

April 16, 2026 – CBI –  Florence, CO –The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is assisting the Florence Police Department (FPD) in actively investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in Florence.

The 43-year-old female involved has been cooperating with authorities after admitting to firing the weapon in the incident. She has claimed the action was taken in self-defense. Investigators are continuing to thoroughly examine the circumstances of the incident, and no official determination has been made to date, nor has case information been presented to the District Attorney for a charging decision.

The Fremont County Coroner has completed the autopsy for the 40-year-old male victim, Zebariah Boh. The coroner’s findings have been shared with investigators. As with all aspects of this case, these details remain under active examination.
