Arrest Made in Child Abuse Case

Pueblo, CO: Pueblo County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a 33-year-old man Wednesday on a warrant for felony child abuse in an incident involving his newborn son.

Brandon Impson was arrested without incident on a no-bond warrant for felony child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. He has been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a local hospital on June 12 after it was reported that a 4-week-old baby had suspicious injuries. The child was taken to the hospital by ambulance after he reportedly had gone unresponsive at a home in the St. Charles Mesa area.

While undergoing treatment at the hospital, it was determined the child had suffered serious injuries, including a closed-head injury, a broken bone and some scratches and bruises. He was stabilized and transported to a hospital in Colorado Springs for further treatment. The child continues to recover from the injuries.

Sheriff detectives conducted a thorough investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for Impson in connection with the incident.

No further information will be released at this time.

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
