Early Morning Crash Closed C-470

There will be an extended closure

(Jefferson County, COLO) – This morning, August 13, 2026, at approximately 7:26 a.m., Colorado State Patrol troopers responded to eastbound Colorado 470 at westbound Interstate 70, west of Lakewood, for a report of a single vehicle rollover crash involving a semi.

Initial investigation shows the semi was eastbound on Interstate 70, where it attempted to take the exit onto Colorado 470. The semi failed to navigate the exit and went off the road across the median into the eastbound lanes of Colorado 470. The semi continued its path going off the road of Colorado 470 before rolling. The trailer came to rest blocking the eastbound lanes of Colorado 470.

The driver was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Eastbound lanes of Colorado 470 near milepost one, have been shut down. There is no estimated time for the road reopening.
