Community Asked to Help Robyn and Troy Platt After Devastating House Fire

A family is asking the community to rally around Robyn and Troy Platt after a fire destroyed their home and belongings on the morning of August 18.

According to their son, Kaymon Platt, both Robyn and Troy escaped the burning home with minor injuries. Their dogs also made it out safely, but the house and possessions inside were destroyed.

Kaymon described his parents as hardworking people who have spent their lives caring for their family and others. Robyn has deep ties to the La Junta community through her longtime work at Wendy’s, while Troy was described by his son as a hardworking father and talented singer who has always been a source of strength for the family.

Now, after losing so much in a matter of minutes, their family is asking for help as Robyn and Troy begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to help Robyn and Troy with their recovery and rebuilding efforts.
