Arrest made in attempted ATM break-in

Rocky Ford, Colo. - August 2nd, 2026 - At about 7:42 A.M., Rocky Ford Communications Center received a call of the ATM at First National Bank being damaged.

A Rocky Ford Police Officer responded and determined that someone had broken into the ATM. None of the cash was accessed or stolen.

An investigation, including tips from the public, identified Dakota Wilkins (33yo from Pueblo) as the suspect. An arrest warrant was issued charging Wilkins with Attempted Theft (Felony 6), Criminal Mischief (Misdemeanor 1) and 3rd Degree Burglary (Misdemeanor 2).

Pueblo Police Department located and arrested Wilkins on the warrant. The court issued a search warrant for Wilkins' truck. Additional evidence was recovered.

Dakota Wilkins is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
