The Aspen Acres Fire and recent flooding have had a devastating impact on the Aspen Acres burn scars. We have not experienced a natural disaster of this magnitude in decades. Beulah has been significantly impacted by both the fire and the ongoing flooding, and, as your Board of County Commissioners, our greatest concern is the safety of our community.

As rain events continue, we urge everyone to remain vigilant and take flooding seriously.

Pueblo County Public Works crews continue to be out on the roads during flooding events, working to identify roadways that are not passable and responding to impacts well into the evening. If you encounter a roadway with significant water flow, please do not attempt to cross it. Turning around protects you and also protects the first responders and county crews who may otherwise be called to rescue you.

We know the flooding has caused significant damage throughout the Beulah community and to critical infrastructure. Pueblo County will continue using every available resource to assist, while also seeking additional support from our generous community, nonprofits, and state and federal partners.

We recognize that the need is great and that Pueblo County Government’s resources alone are limited. Our Disaster Declaration remains an ongoing priority during our weekly meetings so this emergency stays at the forefront of our response and recovery efforts.

Our message is simple: We are in this together.

As your Board of County Commissioners, we are doing everything we can to address the immediate needs of our community, secure flood mitigation funding, support public safety through the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, and facilitate immediate and ongoing road repairs through Pueblo County Public Works.

Please continue to stay aware, use caution, and look out for one another as you navigate your community. We are walking through these events one day at a time. We are heartbroken by the devastation and understand that recovery will be long. But we remain hopeful, and we will continue to help in every way we can.

We have heard the phrase “Beulah Strong” throughout this disaster. It is more than a slogan—it is how this community has lived and supported one another over the past several weeks. We see that strength. We acknowledge it. And we stand with you as we move forward together.
