The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is working with Pueblo County Coroner Greg Grahek to identify human remains found Tuesday night on the edge of Lake Pueblo State Park property near Liberty Point.

Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputies, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Officers, and Pueblo West Firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call of a possible body on Lake Pueblo property, and they located the human remains.

Due to the condition of the remains, additional forensic testing will be required to determine the identity.

The name of the individual and a cause and manner of death will be released by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office at the appropriate time.
