Central Administrative Office
Subject: Important Safety Update Regarding La Junta High School
Dear La Junta High School Families,
We are writing to inform you that a note containing a warning about attending school tomorrow was found at La Junta Junior/Senior High School today.
We immediately launched a thorough investigation in direct partnership with the La Junta Police Department. At this time, law enforcement and school administration have fully investigated the matter and have not been able to substantiate the threat.
Our Continued Safety Measures
- Increased Police Presence: You will see an increased law enforcement presence at our campuses tomorrow as an extra precautionary measure.
- Normal Operations: School will be in session tomorrow with all regular safety protocols in place.
- Vigilance: Our staff remains fully alert and committed to maintaining a secure environment for every student.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our absolute highest priority. We treat any mention of school safety seriously, investigate every concern thoroughly, and work closely with local authorities. Students that engage in this type of behavior and disrupt the day to day operations of the schools, will receive consequences from both the school district and law enforcement for this type of behavior. Thank you for your partnership, trust, and support as we work together to keep our schools safe.
Sincerely,
Patrick J. Krumbolz
Superintendent of Schools
