Highway 71 Was Closed at Rocky Ford Railroad Tracks After Semi Damages Crossing

ROCKY FORD, Colo. — North 12th Street, Highway 71, was closed at the railroad tracks after a semi trailer struck the crossing and caused damage, according to the Rocky Ford Police Department.

Police said drivers should detour west on Maple Street to 10th Street, then travel north on 10th Street to Highway 50.

This is the second crash involving a semi at the tracks within a week. Police said both the semi involved in today’s incident and the one involved last week left the scene before Rocky Ford officers stopped them.

Drivers should use the posted detour while the crossing is closed.
