Springfield Police Charge Intoxicated Driver After Late-Night Crash at 11th and Church
On the evening of 04/25/2026 at approximately 2200 hours, officers from the Springfield Police Department, along with deputies from the Baca County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the area of 11th Street and Church Street on a report of a two-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. As a result of that investigation, one driver was cited for insurance related violations. The second driver was determined to be intoxicated and was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Following Too Closely, and insurance-related violations.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Crashes like this are preventable. When someone chooses to get behind the wheel after drinking, they are taking a risk that does not just affect them. Driving intoxicated is selfish, it is reckless, and it puts other people’s lives at risk that are not yours to gamble with.
